TRITON: A Greek god, the messenger of the sea. He is the son of Poseidon and Amphitrite, god and goddess of the sea respectively, and is herald for his father. He is usually represented as a merman, having the upper body of a human and the tail of a fish.

Our sire, TRITON is a PERFECT example of the Harlequin Great Dane male. Our newest Sire, Tritan comes from what we feel are the best bloodlines around. We researched diligently a 100% American stud, sired from Championship blood. Triton is the result of that search. Triton is everything that we had ever hoped for. At close to 36" tall and pushing 180 lbs, Triton is majestic to see.

- AKC standard for Harlequin Great Danes: The base color is pure white with black torn patches irregularly and well distributed over the entire body; a pure white neck is preferred. The black patches should never be large enough to give the appearance of a blanket, nor so small as to give a stippled or dappled effect.

Great Danes come in six show-acceptable Colors. These are the colors that are approved for Dog Shows. BUT... Great Danes come in all different colors, they may not be show-acceptable, but they are beautiful. Sometimes we have puppies that are not "SHOW COLORS/SHOW MARKED" and we LOVE them anyway!!!!
There are many different colors that are not Show Acceptable ... Yet, they are still just as cute and sweet.
Merle:. A grey base coat with black patches, and generally there is white on the chest and or the toes.
Piebald: They have a white base coat with black, round spots. They have a mantle marked head. You can easily tell them apart from a harlequin because they do not have any merle spots and the spots are ROUND not jagged or torn, like a harlequin. Although Piebalds are normally White with Black, we have had a Fawn Piebald.
There are many other colors, But here at Titan Danes, the ones we normally deal with are listed.
